How our currency conversion works
Hello converts currencies using the Zonos Exchange Rate API. Zonos pulls up-to-date guranenteed exchange rates every 10 minutes.
Configure currency conversion
In order for Hello to properly convert currencies, it needs to know which parts of your website are prices. To do this, find the CSS selector (usually an #id
or a .class
) for the element that contains your prices. If you do not have an easy to query selector around your prices, you may need to add that.
Once you have your CSS selector, you can add it to your Hello settings in Dashboard:
- Go to Dashboard -> Settings.
- Under the Hello section, click Currency conversion.
- Enter your CSS selector(s) in the Price selector field.
- Click Save.
Note: When Hello scans your site to convert prices, it will search for the elements in your Hello settings.
Conflicts with other tools
Since Hello does currency conversion by default, you may run into conflicts with other currency conversion tools. You may need to disable these in order to get Hello working properly.
If for whatever reason you do not want to use Hello's currency conversion, you can disable it in your Hello settings:
- Go to Dashboard -> Settings.
- Under the Hello section, click Currency conversion.
- Uncheck the Enable currency conversion checkbox.
- Click Save.
