Item Quoter

Item Quoter serves as your quick, AI-powered tariff calculator for individual products, making it perfect for building duty costs into your marketplace pricing strategy.

How to get duty rates

  1. Go to Dashboard → Item Quoter
  2. Describe your item (be specific: "handmade ceramic mug" vs "mug")
  3. Add your item price and currency
  4. Add your made in country (where your item was manufactured, also called the product's country of origin)
  5. Select destination country (United States)
  6. Click Get result-->
  7. Review duty rates (and compare postal vs commercial), then buffer them into your marketplace pricing

Best practices for accurate duty rates

Accurate descriptions: Use "sterling silver ring with gemstone" instead of "jewelry"

Country of origin: Where the product was made, not your business location

Pricing strategy: Add calculated duty as a buffer to your product or shipping listing price(s), depending on your pricing strategy

Example calculation

  • Product: Handmade wool scarf
  • Made in: United Kingdom
  • Price: 85 USD
  • Result: 9.6% general + 10% reciprocal tariff = 8.50 USD (postal) or 16.66 USD (commercial) duties
  • Suggested price: 94 USD or 102 USD (includes buffer)

Need just an HS code? Enter item description only, optionally select destination for country-specific codes. No price or country of origin required.
