Answer a product's requirements once, then copy those answers to its variants.
When a product comes in with many variants—sizes, colors, or scents—each variant is its own item in your catalog. If a variant is flagged by PGA checks, it has its own questionnaire on its Requirements tab, even when the answers are the same for every variant. Copy answers removes that repetition: after you confirm one item's questionnaire, you choose the items that should get the same answers, and Zonos copies and confirms them in one step.
Zonos suggests items that look similar, and you can also search your catalog for others. It never copies answers on its own—you pick the items and confirm the copy.
Open an item whose requirements you have already confirmed. You can reach one from the catalog list, or from the Completed tab, which lists items that have a confirmed questionnaire. Open the item's Requirements tab. Above the confirmed answers you'll see Edit questionnaire and Copy answers.
The catalog list also has HS code and Country of origin filters, which help you find a group of related items quickly.
Copy answers appears only on a confirmed requirement. It isn't shown in the guided flow you may see when preparing a shipment—there, answer each item's requirements directly.
Copy answers to other items
On the confirmed item's Requirements tab, select Copy answers. The Copy answers to other items window opens.
Choose the items to copy to. The list starts with variants Zonos suggests as similar—each row shows the item's image, name, SKU (or product ID), HS code, and country of origin. If nothing similar is suggested, the list shows catalog items with the same HS code instead—these aren't checked for a matching name, so review them before you select. Only items that still need this requirement (including ones you've started but not confirmed) are listed.
To find other items, search by name, or change the HS code or Country of origin filters at the top of the window. The HS code filter starts on this item's HS code. Change a filter and the list switches from suggestions to your search results.
Select items by clicking a row or its checkbox. The checkbox in the header selects every item on the page. Your selections stay checked as you change pages and filters, and a counter shows how many you've chosen out of the 100 you can copy to at once. Select Deselect to start over.
Select Copy answers.
In the prompt, review the number of items and the requirement name, then select Copy and confirm. This copies the confirmed answers and confirms them on your behalf—just as if you had submitted each questionnaire yourself. That includes any certification statements in the questionnaire, so only copy to items you are sure the answers apply to.
Zonos copies the answers to each selected item and confirms them. Items that finish leave the list, and a message tells you how many were completed. If an item can't be completed—for example, because it needs an answer the confirmed item didn't have—it stays selected so you can try again or open it to finish. A copy can't be undone, but you can change the answers afterward.
Important: Items that don't look similar. If you select an item that Zonos didn't suggest, and its name or HS code doesn't match, the prompt adds a warning. Check that the answers apply before you continue.
Note: A copy takes every answer for that requirement from the confirmed item, except any you already answered yourself on the target item. You can't pick individual answers to copy. If one item needs a different answer, copy first, then open that item and select Edit questionnaire to change it.
The "Check similar items?" prompt
When you select Confirm & review next on an item, Zonos checks whether similar items are waiting for the same requirement. If there are, it asks whether you want to check them before moving on:
Check similar items keeps you on the item you just confirmed and opens the Copy answers window.
Skip continues to the next requirement or item, as it normally would.
If no similar items are waiting, you move on without a prompt.
Items that are already confirmed. Copying never changes a confirmed questionnaire, and confirmed items aren't listed. To change one, open it and select Edit questionnaire.
Answers you entered yourself on the target item. If you already answered a question on an item, the copy keeps your answer.
Item details. Only requirement answers are copied—not weights, HS codes, descriptions, or any other catalog fields.
If you expected to see an item in the Copy answers window, check each of these:
The item still needs this requirement. If it already has the requirement confirmed, or doesn't have the requirement at all, it won't be listed. The requirement can also be different for different ship-to or ship-from countries.
Your filters. The window starts with the HS code filter set to this item's HS code. To find a different item, search by name, or clear or change the HS code and Country of origin filters.
The list is up to date. Items sync and screen in the background, so newly imported items can take a few moments to appear. A broad search may also return a shorter page than expected—search again with a more specific name or filter.
Can I copy answers to an item Zonos didn't suggest?
Yes. Search for it by name, or use the HS code and Country of origin filters in the Copy answers window. If its name or HS code doesn't match the confirmed item, the prompt warns you first. Make sure the answers apply to it before you copy.
Does Zonos copy answers automatically?
No. Zonos only copies answers when you select items, choose Copy answers, and confirm the prompt.
Can I undo a copy?
A copy can't be undone, but you can change the answers afterward. Open the item, select Edit questionnaire on its Requirements tab, update the answers, and confirm again. The copied answers stay in effect until you submit the update.
Why is an item still flagged after I copied to it?
The item needed answers the confirmed item didn't have—or its questionnaire is a different version from the confirmed item's—so Zonos left it for you to review. Open the item, answer the remaining questions, and select Confirm.
