Your account is now set up
You can access Item Quoter in Dashboard to calculate duty rates and classify products, or connect via API using your key from Settings → Integrations → Account key → Token.
Dashboard Lite will include usage limits and new features:
Quotes: Each store will get 5,000 free single-request quotes per month.
Ship-to support: Quotes are currently limited to the U.S.
You'll need to upgrade for usage beyond these limits. See the Item Quoter guide for how to run a quote.
5. Enter your Royal Mail shipper number in Dashboard
Your Catalogue holds the product data. Each U.S.-bound parcel you send has to be matched to it before that data can be applied to the goods inside. Your Royal Mail shipper number is what connects the shipments you send with Royal Mail to the product information in your Catalogue.
In Dashboard, open the setup guide.
In Enter your Royal Mail shipper number, enter your shipper number.
Click Save.
Important: Until your shipper number is in place, Zonos has no way to connect the goods you ship to the product data you added, and that data will not be applied.
6. Get your products into Zonos
Your Catalogue is where the extra U.S. information for each product lives, so you provide it once and it travels with every shipment. There are two ways to build it:
Connect your store with Zonos Sync. Your products and orders sync automatically, keeping your Catalogue current as your store changes. Etsy, eBay, Shopify, WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce (Magento), Wix, and Amazon are ready, with BigCommerce coming soon and more after that. See channel integrations for how each one connects.
Upload a CSV. This works for any platform, and is the route to take if a connection to your store isn't available yet.
To connect a store, go to Dashboard → Catalog, click Add channel, and select your platform. If your platform isn't listed yet, choose Upload a CSV instead.
Starting with a CSV is not wasted work—products you upload keep their details if you connect a store later.
Either way, Zonos then knows what you sell and can flag the items that need more information before they can be shipped to the U.S.
7. Include a product reference when you ship
If you uploaded your products with a CSV, include a reference to each product inside when you ship a U.S.-bound parcel with Royal Mail, so Zonos can match it to your Catalogue. That match is how Zonos attaches the additional product information in your Catalogue to the shipment. Details on how to add the reference are coming soon.
If you connected your store with Zonos Sync, there is nothing to add. Zonos matches your shipments to your products using the orders and tracking numbers from your store.
Your Royal Mail Verified Account is not used for billing
There is no subscription fee, and Zonos does not bill you for duties or clearance fees through it. For Royal Mail shippers, the Verified Account exists to hold your product data.
Duty prepayment is unchanged by it. Royal Mail collects the duty on your U.S.-bound parcels the way it already does.
Verified Accounts for some other postal operators do handle duty billing, because that is what those operators wanted. If you come across billing guidance written for another post, it does not apply to you.
Setting up the account and syncing your products is the start of the work, not the end. Zonos checks each product against U.S. entry requirements and flags the ones that need more information—see Add required product data.
