Contract shipper manifest workflow (if applicable)
If you are a Canada Post contract shipper, you must create shipment groups and generate manifests for your packages. This is required by Canada Post for both scheduled pickups and drop-offs.
If you are not a Canada Post contract shipper, you can skip this step.
Adding shipments to groups
When creating a label for a Canada Post order, a dialog will appear prompting you to either add the shipment to an existing group or create a new one.
After creating a new group or selecting an existing one, that shipment will be added to the group and you will be able to print your label.
Managing shipment groups
To see your existing shipment groups, navigate to Dashboard -> Shipping -> Manifests from the menu on the left-hand side of Dashboard.
From here you can select a group to view all of your groups, the number of shipments in them, and their current status. Clicking on a group will show you more details about the shipments in them.
Generating your manifest
When you are ready to ship out your packages and generate your manifest, click the Close Group button in the top right corner. You can also close a group from the list view by clicking the Close button on the right side of the elements in the list.
After closing the group, you will see a new Download manifest button that will allow you to download and print your manifest document that will be given to Canada Post when you ship out your packages.
Using your Canada Post rates
Now that you have your Canada Post account connected, you will need to do the following to begin using your live Canada Post rates for shipping quotes:
- Create shipping zones - Shipping zones allow you to have different service levels, rules, and shipping rates for different countries or groups of countries. There is no limit to how many shipping zones you can create.
- Enable Canada Post service levels - Enabling service levels in the zones that you want to use them in allows you to offer different service levels to different zones.
- Test your shipping - Test your shipping to make sure everything is working properly and being displayed as intended before being used in production or going live on your website.

Pull rates directly from your Canada Post account.Connect directly to your Canada Post account through Zonos Dashboard. Our integration with Canada Post uses their API to pull your live shipping rates so you get the most accurate shipping and landed cost calculations. In order to use this feature, you will need to follow the guidelines outlined in this document to connect your account and then enable Canada Post service levels in your shipping zones followed by testing to ensure it's working properly.
Note: If you are a Canada Post contract shipper, you will need to follow an additional manifest workflow when creating labels. See the Contract shipper manifest workflow step below for details.
