5. Get your products into Zonos
Your Catalog is where the extra U.S. information for each product lives, so you provide it once and it travels with every shipment. There are two ways to build it:
Connect your store with Zonos Sync. Your products and orders sync automatically, keeping your Catalog current as your store changes. Etsy, eBay, Shopify, WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce (Magento), Wix, and Amazon are ready, with BigCommerce coming soon and more after that. See channel integrations for how each one connects.
Upload a CSV. This works for any platform, and is the route to take if a connection to your store isn't available yet.
To connect a store, go to Dashboard → Catalog, click Add channel, and select your platform. If your platform isn't listed yet, choose Upload a CSV instead.
Starting with a CSV is not wasted work—products you upload keep their details if you connect a store later.
Either way, Zonos then knows what you sell and can flag the items that need more information before they can be shipped to the U.S.
We recommend including each product's country of origin when you add products to your Catalog, since some checks depend on it.
The ID in your catalog is important — that is how we match the data in your shipment to your additional data in your Catalog. When you ship via Swiss Post systems, you'll need to include either the Product ID, SKU, or Zonos Catalog Item ID in the Article description field. Be sure that whichever you use is unique per product. You'll follow that ID with a space, a hyphen, another space, and then the precise goods description. For example: 123456 - womens cotton tshirt.
6. Add your Zonos information each time you create U.S. shipments with Swiss Post
Do this every time you ship a package under $2,500 USD to the United States in Swiss Post's online service:
In the Sender address section, add your Zonos Organization ID to the Tax number field.
In each item's Article description, start with the item's Product ID, SKU, or Zonos Catalog Item ID, then a space, a hyphen, a space, and the goods description. Example: 123456 - womens cotton tshirt
The ID you enter must match the one for that product in your Zonos Dashboard catalog.
Your Swiss Post Verified Account is not used for billing
There is no subscription fee, and Zonos does not bill you for duties or clearance fees through it. For Swiss Post shippers, the Verified Account exists to hold your product data.
Verified Accounts for some other postal operators do handle duty billing, because that is what those operators wanted. If you come across billing guidance written for another post, it does not apply to you.
Setting up the account and syncing your products is the start of the work, not the end. Zonos checks each product against U.S. entry requirements and flags the ones that need more information—see Add required product data.
