Stay on native BigCommerce checkout

Skip Zonos address detection for a checkout link.

BigCommerce stores can let a shopper stay on native BigCommerce checkout instead of being sent to international Zonos Checkout. The bypass is off until you turn it on, and the setting is shown only when your store's ecommerce platform is BigCommerce.

Zonos Hello on the rest of your store is unchanged. Shoppers who open checkout without the bypass link still go to Zonos Checkout when an international address or location is detected.

Turn on the bypass

  1. In Dashboard, go to Settings -> Checkout settings.
  2. Under General, turn on Allow address detection bypass.
  3. Click Save.

Turning the setting on does not change checkout for every shopper. Only a link to your BigCommerce checkout page that includes zBypass uses native checkout. The setting can take a few minutes to apply after you save.

Add zBypass=1 to your store's checkout URL:

https://store.example.com/checkout?zBypass=1

zBypass works only on the BigCommerce /checkout page. A link to your homepage, a product page, or the cart does not bypass address detection, even when the setting is on.

Accepted values are 1, true, and yes. Capitalization and extra spaces do not matter. Any other value is ignored, and the shopper is sent to Zonos Checkout when an international address or location is detected.

Zonos removes zBypass from the address bar after the checkout page loads. Send the full link each time. A checkout URL without zBypass uses the normal international checkout flow.

Example

A buyer should pay on native BigCommerce checkout. With Allow address detection bypass turned on, send them:

https://your-store.mybigcommerce.com/checkout?zBypass=1

They stay on native BigCommerce checkout and are not sent to international Zonos Checkout when an international address or location is detected. Shoppers who open /checkout without zBypass still go to Zonos Checkout.
