Create an order from a quote

When you generate a quote in the Quoter, you can convert it directly into either a shareable Checkout cart link or an order without payment—without requiring the customer to go through your storefront again. This is useful for customer service scenarios, B2B workflows, or any situation where you want to build a quote on behalf of a customer and then hand off the checkout experience.

From the quote detail page, the Create cart button offers two options:

• Generate cart – Creates a Zonos Checkout cart from the quote and provides a link you can share with the customer to complete payment.
• Create order without payment – Creates an order directly from the quote without collecting payment.

Generate cart 

Use this option when you want the customer to complete payment themselves via Zonos Checkout. Zonos generates a unique cart link pre-loaded with the items and pricing from the quote. You can optionally pre-fill the customer's shipping address so they don't have to re-enter it.

Steps

1. In the Dashboard, navigate to Quoter > Recent quotes.
2. Select the quote you want to convert.
3. Click Create cart in the top right, then select Generate cart.
4. In the modal, optionally check Prefill address to pre-populate the customer's shipping information from the quote. If checked, review and confirm the address fields.
5. Click Generate cart.
6. A cart link is generated. You can:
   • Click Copy link to copy the Checkout URL to your clipboard and share it with the customer.
   • Click Open in new window to preview the cart in Zonos Checkout.

The customer can use the link to review their order and complete payment through Zonos Checkout. The link includes the cart items, landed cost breakdown, and any pre-filled address details.

Create order without payment 

Use this option when you want to create an order directly from the quote without collecting payment—for example, in B2B workflows where the customer is invoiced separately, or for internal order creation.

Steps

1. In the Dashboard, navigate to Quoter > Recent quotes.
2. Select the quote you want to convert.
3. Click Create cart in the top right, then select Create order without payment.
4. In the modal, review the shipping address and confirm it is correct.
5. Click Create order.
6. Zonos creates the order and redirects you to the new order detail page.

An order number is automatically generated for the new order. The order will appear in your Orders list and can be managed like any other Zonos Checkout order.
