How it works
Understand the payment of a customs invoice and the sequence flow from a consignee, to Zonos, and to a final mile provider, a broker or to customs.
Zonos pays carrier or broker
Zonos can pay a customs invoice to carriers, final mile providers or brokers. This is the most common option for Collect.
Zonos pays customs
For faster payment to customs and fewer steps, Zonos can pay the customs agency directly. Customs would need connect their bank account to Zonos to enable this option.
Connect your bank account
Zonos uses Stripe to make sure you get paid on time and to keep your company bank details secure. Stripe enables the ability for consignees to enter their payment and credit card information directly into the invoice page and deposits the payments in your bank account. See Stripe Connect to learn more. Follow the steps below to enable payments.
Sign up to enable payments
- Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Payments and click Sign up.
- Enter your bank information:
- Account number
- Routing number
- Account Holder Name
- Country
- Currency
- Account Holder Type (choose company)
- Click Save.
Driver collects on delivery
Currently, the consignee invoice payments are only available for electronically. The driver can direct the consignee to their email, to your website, or offer a QR code to pay at the door. If you want to offer the ability for the driver to collect cash or check at the door, you can mark the invoice as paid in Dashboard, but the payment reconciliation will be done separately in your own system. Zonos’ fees for creating and invoicing will still apply and the charges will be applied to your payouts. Your payout report will reflect the fees charged for invoices collected outside the hosted invoice page.
Supported countries
Collect is available in 131 different countries and can offer daily or weekly payouts. For a list of supported settlement currencies, see Stripe supported currencies.
